AICE - Awards 2011

AICE is an international trade association whose members are independent editorial, design and visual effects companies. With chapters in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco and Toronto, AICE  member companies and their editors, designers and artists are a significant and influential segment of the marketing communications industry.

The Notebook may have been so much better as a horror movie. The AICE held its annual Camp Kuleshov contest for the NYC chapter, which challenges editors to recut movie trailers into an entirely another genre. The winner was "The Notebook," horror redux, by Northern Lights' assistant editor Lisa White. Ryan Krumm of ANATOMY took second place with "Splash," recast as a political thriller and Carl Vasile of Nutmeg Post won third, with "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" transformed into a TV sitcom promo. Full films can be seen on the
AICE website. Last year, David Otte won with his version of "Freaky Friday."

The Winner: "The Notebook"

2nd: "Splash"

3rd: "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"
